Made it!

Hi everyone,

We arrived into Hamilton Island about 2.30 this morning. So some vital statistics...

Max speed - 15.6 knots - achieved by Robert, downwind in 18 knots with the red spinnaker and full main sail.

Average speed - Brisbane to Hamilton 8.2 knots. The last 40 hours to arrival at Hamilton 9.5 knots.

Damage, breakage, injuries - None. Just a bit of routine maintenance and we are ready for race week - bring it on!

The trip up from Brisbane started with the wind on the nose and motor sailing across Moreton Bay for what seemed like an eternity. Winds were light and variable right up to Fraser Island. Once there, we decided to sail for the remainder of the trip (however long that would take!). The Fraser coast took an entire day (about 20 hours) to get past, but to ease the pain, fresh fish was on the dinner menu!

Once past Fraser, the SE trade winds began to kick in, and One O Nine took off! (see statistics above). The photos might give a bit of an idea of the past few days. For now, a sleep, clean up, a few small jobs and prepare for the biggest week in the Hamilton Island calender...
